A friend came to work today and told me about his supermarket experience over the weekend (same supermarket visited twice).

1. when scanning items through the till the chap serving exclaimed 'what is this' and pointed to a corn on the cob :shock:

2. on a return visit for some breakfast items at the self checkout a grapefruit wouldnt scan (no barcode). The girl helping trotted off to the isle to get a barcode and came back of what seemed like a longer than expected amount of time. When the barcode scanned it came up with pink grapefruit. My friend questioned whether it was in fact pink grapefruit he'd bought to which the girl replied "well the sticker said pink so I looked up and down in all the crates and could only find yellow ones".

:lol:

I heard on the radio this morning that pizza had overtaken curry as 'the nations favourite takeaway'. Now, I like a good pizza but I have to say I've had an awful lot more rubbish ones than good ones. Whereas I've had some rocking curries but I can't remember ever having one I didn't really like. So overall, I think it may well be a sad day for the food standards of the nation.

I do like a good pizza, especially when homemade. If I get take out I try to go to Dominoes and make use of Nurse Nic's 50% discount! Pizza Hut is so-so and the local jobbies are ok when you want something cheap. I would say when we do get takeout the preference is for Indian/Chinese still.

I prefer curry as well, but a good pizza is never turned down.

Homemade > Takeaway
Homemade.Cost() < Takeaway.Cost()
Homemade.Convenience() < Takeaway.Convenience().

Homemade wins at least 2-1.
