When did petrol get so damned expensive?

I expected 104s down Dorset, but when we left home a litre of jungle juice was hovering around 101.9. Today it was 103.9.

So that got my day off to a bad start. Grr.

It's been 102.9 to 104.9 down here for ages. We do have one place that's on 106.9.
For the high octane stuff, it's as high as 115.9, but most seem to be about 107.9 for the good stuff.

Didn't get the job. Went to someone from outside the organisation. So there we are.

Trying to look on the bright side, it's all good interview experience which will, hopfully, serve you well in the future.

That's what I'll be telling myself next week, when I hear that I didn't get the job* ;)

* Because it's true! :P

I've just tried installing a gateway security device.
Opened the sealed package, configured it, hit register and got told the serial number is already registered. WTF

Ah the joys of IT. If someone asks me 'how long will it take?' I no longer reply as if you say a time it's going to take 6 times longer than that!

ION.

Sent the following to finance today saying the below:
"Remember my query regarding commission from the other week. I’ve looked in to this (money’s tight so have to check everything) and found:

My contract says the following:
“For the first £30,000 per annum GP commission will be paid at 15% and will be paid on a monthly basis. Above £30,000 the rest is paid at 20%.”

From checking with a few accountants I know I’ve been told Gross Profit is defined as:
“In accounting, gross profit or sales profit is the difference between revenue and the cost of making a product or providing a service, before deducting overhead, payroll, taxation, and interest payments. Note that this is different from operating profit (earnings before interest and taxes)”

Can we double check this?"

The MD came over to me and has started negotiating terms for the future. Quite possibly, commission + bonus' for retained customers + part share of the company.
If they can only sort out what I'm owed I could be quids in. (although I'd probably still be looking at moving)
