One for all the 3D haters. If you can be arsed to go, I would really appreciate it if you checked out Sanctum 3D.

Watched it last night and the 3D is even better than Avatar. The movie isn't as good in my opinion, but obviously lots of you disagree on that. But given the widespread hate for 3D, I just wondered if people would find this better. The depth of field and perspective offered is amazing and the location of the story really lends itself to the stunning photography. The film itself is actually alright, not amazing, but entertaining enough and a couple of chilling sequences. I'd give it a 3 out of 5.

But I'd really be interested to hear people's opinions on the 3D.

Since IMHO cameron has only done two decent films (Terminator and Aliens), I think its likely to be a cold day in hell before I go and see this.
and unfortunately your review is even less likely to make me go and see it.. 3D better than smurfs in space but the story is worse

I want to see Sanctum as it is based on a true story in a subject I'm interested in. However I'll probably wait for DVD as I'll need to pause all of the scuba porn.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yeah, but remember that I thought the story of Avatar was awesome. You and everybody else here, would probably prefer this story. Also, Jim only has an exec producer credit because of his involvement with the 3D. He didn't write, or direct the film. So don't be down on it because of him. It's very enjoyable and I really think the 3D adds something in this case (unlike just about every other case).

And Matt, the scuba porn is way better on the big screen ;)

Fill your boots....

I was merely trying to advance the debate on 3D production.

Don't get me wrong, I like Avatar (especially in 3D), but the plot was hardly original.

Just went to see Paul at the cinema. What a brilliantly funny film. Even better than Hot Fuzz.

I was privileged enough to get in to an advanced preview screening of Animal Kingdom today (at the QFT, for those local to me).
What a brilliant film. I'd totally recommend it when it finally gets proper screening dates in the UK.
A throughly good film. My mate described it "It's like being trapped on a crawling train running out of track towards the end of a cliff."
It's a slow burner, but boy, do you get there in the end.
