After waiting three weeks for a MAC code from Orange, I managed to let Plusnet know a week ago. They said the internet would be swapped over on/by 11th (tomorrow). This morning, no internet. No idea how long I'll be down for but it means no COD Also, was supposed to spend this morning with paperwork. Had the afternoon booked off. One of the other docs can't come in today, which means I need to fill in for the morning. That's fine except there's a forty minute gap where there are no patients booked in and about five extra patients booked at the end. This gap was missed by the receptionists. I hope they can move those patients forwards. I really want to leave on time.

First day of holiday, got emails sent to my work email... Which would be fine but someone reset my network password which means I had no chance of getting them through my exchange web/mobile or even logging onto my pc to read them

Is it just me or is emotional intelligence at a premium around this time of year? 'Yeah, it's my fault I don't have the answer to YOUR problem'

Some selfish turd came out to the rig yesterday with the lurgy. He's been confined to his cabin for seventy two hours, but if it spreads via the air con they might cancel three days worth of flights. I'm due off tomorrow!!!

It's crazy how the 'protestors' over here are demanding respect for one flag whilst burning that of another nation openly on the streets.

It's alright, it's foreign It's worth making a distinction between an actual protest and a Nike Max outbreak though, and that especially applies to the media; the story often depends on what channel you're watching!

It's been decided by our bosses (for reasons I can't fathom) that we can't give out our first names to callers; Can I have your name, please? (You know, should the caller need to call back, point of reference sort of thing) Sorry, I'm not allowed to give my name out. But I can give you our email address! Now, amongst others, we're dealing with solicitors, ordinary members of the public, you name it. If I've to put them through to another department, I can't give them the name of the person I'm putting them through to either. How in fcuk's name are we to explain that idiocy to callers without them thinking we're a total bunch of jobsworths? But what really gets my goat, is that knowing this is idiotic, the bosses are having a spreadsheet drawn up where we'll log EVERY call we take, or every attempt at limply giving out our ridiculously complicated email address... I wanna fcuking scream. And if I was a member of the public calling in, or anyone really, I'd be mighty pissed off. With the people we're dealing with on the phone, the issue is often time sensitive, like right then and there The above is just the latest load of bollocks from on high; there's a good chance there will be another spreadsheet for the upcoming telephone rota that won't work either (we're on flexi time, and they expect people to stay 'til five with regards to this. Not gonna happen if you're paying for child minding etc, is it? It's not even legal within our working agreement!). There's our new 3 month reviews too. Four times a year we'll be expected to make up sh1t when really nothing will have changed in our jobs, and nobody reads the things anyway or they'd see that everyone submits the EXACT same BS. And this week they've announced they're disappointed that the secret Santa nonsense doesn't have any takers; this means another enforced attempt at 'happiness' with a cringeworthy quiz you can attend and get away early, or do a normal working day. I need more info on that one, I'm tempted to spite the dumb fcuks. I'll be keeping an eye on the job listings now I think...

Habe you been told that you aren't allowed to give *your* first name? Could you give a made up name, like Fred...? Or just swap names with the people in the office every couple of hours...

We've been discussing that in work, and if it comes to it I'll force the issue by becoming JR Hartley

Fecking City Link. They delivered a package yesterday. I say delivered, what thaey actually did was dump it outside a flat on the ground floor. We live on the third. The arsehole driver didn't even ring the bell. Just called to complain and the robot on the other end kept saying that there were special instructions to leave it safe if we were out. My wife was there all day. Had to repeat this about 6 times before she got it. Someone was in and the driver was too lazy to ring the bell and come up the stairs.
