It'll take them ages, but the opposition parties will eventually latch on to that once the story becomes too big to ignore.

Good. I was hoping to retire in 4 years but it may be sooner than that :D

Really? I hadn't realised inheriting money can turn someone into such a [LIFTED].

Having worked hard and paid taxes for nearly 30 years I am not going to apologise for being in the position to jump out of the rat race in the next few years. I only found out last week how much the potential rent I can get on my London property and was quite surprised how high it was.

What's your excuse?

There's a difference between being comfortable and gloating about it.

I was shrewd enough to buy a property when I was 21 when all my friends were out blowing money on nights out while living at home. I'm sure if you was in the position to retire early you'd be happy about it too.

You mean that if you were 21 now, you'd be able to save the 50k deposit and get a mortgage for your house based in your salary?

I'm not 21 now so that question is irrelevent. I am not responsible for rising house prices or inflation. I am responsible for being savvy enough to invest in property at a young age as I could see the benefits later in life which I am reaping now.

Regardless of my inheritance it was always my goal to retire or semi retire at 50.

For any British Scifi fan of a particular generation, that is possibly the most awesome thing ever.
