Penalty! 2-0 Mexico!

If I was Irish, I'd be really pissed off. France steal a place at the finals and then put in such a half arsed shoddy effort as this.

Ribbery has been mugged at least five times, Mexico haven't given up on a single ball all match.

LMAO.

Well played Mexico. France are a disgrace on and off the pitch, the subs standing behind the goal and the coach just leaning on the dugout without a care in the world.

I wonder what the odds are for a draw between Uruguay and Mexico :D

Suits me. All of my 4 picks are doing well so far. ;)

Edit: The tannoy announcer was cracking tonight, half way between Isaac Hayes and God.

What a good game!

When the game started, I thought it was going to be a great contest. But the French seemed to lose interest as the match went on, and the Mexicans thoroughly deserved their win.

Any bets that the Irish are supporting Mexico for this match? :D

It was really downright peculiar to watch a team in such a spiralling breakdown. Credit to Mexico, they still played pretty well imho, but France were just completely out of it.

Agreed. By all accounts at then of the match Evra looked towards the bench and ripped his captain's armband off. Not happy campers.

It just goes to show, a good team will outplay good individual players. Spain are testament to that aswell.

After a good start the refs have really gone downhill.

Klose off for Germany because of 2 soft yellows. Be interesting to see how the young team respond to this. Spanish ref, jealous that his team hasn't started so well? :D

Edit: Not good it seems, 1-0 to Serbia.

I think more will be off in this match, I think 4 others already have yellow cards.

Agreed, although the wife got a bit annoyed with me after I spent an hour or so speaking like that after watching the match...

Edit to add: did anybody else notice that a lot of the Mexican fans were wearing what were wither wrestling masks or possible multi-coloured gimp masks?

And another thing... how cool would it be if the England team came out onto the pitch tonight, and all of them had their faces painted... white with a BIG red cross through the middle!

I like an underdog - so last nights game and the Germany game that's being played at the moment are great.

Great chance for Germany on the stroke of half-time though.

I would love it if the Germans lost! How great would that be, the French and Germans both losing :D :D

This ref is shocking.

Handball against Vidic when nobody around him, penalty given for some random reason.

LMAO! German penalty saved!

It was a handball in the box though so quite rightly a penalty.

I was so happy to see it saved. :D
