Nothing wrong with skipping gears as long as you're not stressing components.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Free upgrade from 8Mb ADSL to 20Mb ADSL.

It's nice when that happens. I got it last year. :D

Not to rain on your parade, but with ADSL you'll only get anything approaching 8Mb/s (let alone 20MB/s) if you're actually sat inside the exchange. My experience was you'll get roughly 50% more than you had before, whatever that actually was. Which is, as you say, sweet, for free.

I do agree that you'll never see 20megs, but I get around 12 on average. I'm not camped out on top of the exchange either - it's a good 300 metres away.

Am I correct in thinking that Napalm Death were the winners of the x404 Rock 'n' Roll Poll?

Looks like I'll be needing to go into hospital again for another operation after my infection ruptured again today.

Bugger

jonbwfc I was behind her in a queue today - but I wouldn't describe it as 'bushy'.

No it wasn't, been in quite a bit of pain this evening but luckily got codeine/paracetamol/ibuprofen/diclafenic from the accident for the pain/swelling (not all at once of course)

Still not back to full health since the accident which is 7 months now, and still looking at potentially 2+ months until I see any result for the compensation (hardly ambulance chasing when I'm almost constantly having to buy painkillers and other things for the pain/movement and getting massages/physio out of my own pocket now)

Recurring pilonidal sinus (well sinuses), had the first one 3 years ago when I was at MS and was just on antibiotics for them until last November/december when I finally got an operation to try and clear it out, but they are only 50% successful, guess I was in the other 50% (antibiotics only works on 5% apparently... but it helps keep it at bay)

I think this is the 4th site now so probably going to need another operation and time off work to recover... which is just what i dont need :(

Yeah they can be a complete b***h. TBH I've never favoured antibiotics for abscesses. The best treatment for these IMO will always be incision and drainage. The question why are you getting repeat episodes. Are you diabetic? Historically they're the ones to develop multiple abscesses like this.

Nope just very hairy :(

the old sites arent active any more as far as I can tell, I just seem to keep getting the build up

Don't think I'm diabetic.... been pretty intolerant to milk the past week (bad cramps after anything past 3 cups of tea with milk) but that is it

Just wondered what the opinion of the group was on such practices. Would you partake? Or is it childish bollocks?

If the sleeping around is that rife, I'm not sure I'd want to expose my knob to such medical danger

As a married man, Jim, I'm sure you've slept with the same person at least three times. ;)

I've drunk other people's piss for a lot less than that.

Indeed.

However, Oki is describing a group where one-night-stands are actively encouraged. In that case it only requires one grubby oik to give everyone rotten nads.

I think you're assuming that nobody's using condoms. Not an entirely fool proof solution, but pretty effective.
