Community I like but there's no denying it's a bit of a curio.
Person of Interest is fast becoming a documentary with everything we now know about Deepmind that Google bought and the extent of NSA snooping.
Covert Affairs is in my list.
Sherlock went off the boil big time.

That would be a documentary from an alternate timeline, where the snooping of the NSA went largly unnoticed and the radicals took up arms. It's certainly an interesting parallel between the fictional world on-screen and the real world we live in. Mark

POI is harmless fun for those who can tell it is a MacGuyver/Bourne/Night Rider/Equaliser-ish romp about people and machines with unrealistic capabilities and tortured back stories. It's topical, but perhaps that's not to be confused with plausible.

Damn you, Arrow. The show's awful but it's just watchable enough in the 'take brain out' sense, and I keep watching it to see what it does with the DC characters. And all because it showed up on Prime

True Detective. Watched the first episode, but don't think I'll bother with episode two. Dragged like a Draggy thing, but not in a good way.

I'm over half way through season 2, and it keeps getting better - not often that happens!

'Pacific Rim' Animated Series Will Tell Long Story Arcs http://www.latino-review.com/news/pacif ... story-arcsI tried watching Pacific Rim again the other night, but it loses what little impact it had originally on a smaller screen. You can't even tell what's happening in the fights.

I quite enjoyed Arrow, the biggest gripe being that utterly awful title sequence. I've been binging quite hard recently, and have watched the following: Utopia: Quite brutal, very cool, quite confusing to start off with. Continuum: Started off very well, but the third series felt significantly off the boil compared to the first two. Orange is the New Black: Not really my normal fare, but was quite enjoyable. Never has so much nudity been as unerotic as that show is! Boston Legal: Watched almost entirely for James Spader and William Shatner. Some wonderful moments, but a fair few of the plot lines were quite weak. House of Cards: Not sure I can ever watch The West Wing again after this, as it would just be too twee. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are impeccable in this. Bought a subscription to Netflix after seeing it. The Blacklist: This gets a little section all of its own, just because it's so, so good in my book. James Spader is as made for this role as Jack Nicholson was for The Shining. Lot's of intrigue, fabulous character acting, excellent writing, it's got it all. Here's the trailer to tempt you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGBIimq1I3A

Episode one was just too slow. Do you think it's worth sticking with? Honestly? And if so, how long before it picks up. I'm not having a go, because your advice is usually spot on when it comes to tv recommendations, but I really don't want to waste over ten hours of my life on a telly programme! The Blacklist. Derivative, formulaic same old... But still fun to watch. Only seen a couple of episodes so far but this is looking quite good, in a "you know exactly what's going to happen and can usually guess the dialogue before its spoken, but what the heck, at least the characters are interesting " kind of way.
