If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

It genuinely makes me sad to see it melting away like that.
Such an incredible machine should be preserved. :(

At least it hasn't been sold for scrap in India already. UK government take note.

Reminded me of various apocalyptic machines from animé I've seen. It's verging on the surreal. If I saw one coming my way, I'd crap myself.

They were capable of beach landings - so marine mines wouldn't be much of an issue, but common land anti tank ones might be thinking about it. :)

Anti tank obstacles on the beach would stop them from making beach landings, though It could mean could still get troops very close to shore from thousands of miles away. Also because they are wing in ground effect they are very fuel efficient, not that the russians have problems with oil supplies being a oil exporter.

If it weren't for the fact my car's in the garage having a new battery tray welded in place and the alternator sorting before it's MOT'd... I would. :(
Although I'd swear I've seen it on another site before.

Measured tyres today. Front nearside 3mm. Front offside 6mm (previously replaced both a few years back and then had to replace one fairly soon due to a puncture). Rears both at 4mm. Explains why traction control is kicking in more often.

Hope that 3mm can last until I get my hands on some winter tyres.
