Whoops. May have just angered someone at Bit-Tech. I dared to suggest than when pricing up a new PC the Bit-Tech enthusiast PC + Dell U2711 + rest of PC components costs the same as my new iMac (hence why I bought the iMac and didnt build a new PC) and is largely for the most part the same spec. How very dare I!!

Common sense. An understanding of a machine meeting a persons specifications. A realisation that I'm not a raging Apple fanboy and made my purchasing decision based on cost versus performance and found a Mac does and can compete with a self build. I guess it's too much to ask. The general consensus is that because I didnt build my PC then I bought an overpriced toy for people who like shiny things and cant possibly know anything about PCs or be anything other than a basic 'user'.

Just got my Custompc magazine and it's got smaller so now I have a step down in my collection on the shelf...
Plus when you get older you need bigger not smaller....

*nods* To a PC user / Gamer there is nothing worse than a mac user. You will always get the same response I'm afraid. Only mac users take macs seriously Now pull up a chair and have a cuppa and don't worry it.

Not true. I take Macs seriously. But the majority of the BT crowd game, so a Mac is no good. Also, the vast majority of the BT crowd ENJOY building their own machines - me included. So even a prebuilt PC would be frowned upon.

Just so there's no confusion I was responding to a news piece on iMacs over there. I wasn't randomly trolling the BT guys.

Why the [LIFTED] can't people just let sleeping dogs lie?
If it's a product you want, go nuts. If it's not for you, get something else. Where's the need to go ranting about why you're not going with any given company?
But then I own and quite enjoy using both, which clearly means I'm in line for a pre-frontal lobotomy any day now.

That's bollox, I'm a PC user/gamer and I've used Macs, quite like them TBH and they were certainly fit for the purposes I needed them for. I think you're referring to tw@s Caz, but they can be found in both camps.

PC user. Found every time I used a mac, they'd break down. My boss used to say I carried "static" and that's what caused it. Never had issues with Windows machines in the same way.

I'm just lazy. I know how to use Windows and it does everything I want. Mac would mean learning a whole new OS, and most of my games wouldn't work.

Actually a mac is remarkably easy to learn. Even with my amnesia I was able to transition to OSX.
