Once the villains are properly introduced it's pure cheesey win.

It was still a very successful show though. It was on the air for ten years. It wouldn't be a bad thing if there was a ten year run for a female-led super hero show on TV. Mark

What? A Joss show that wasn't canceled early?
Anyone scared of bunnies?

It did, and it wasn't, but how long ago was that? It very much wasn't the norm, which is a bit of a shame. Mark

Buffy actually had 7 seasons , at the same time Alias was also showing, interesting female lead. Dollhouse was also interesting but that got canned quickly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tbf, there's many a female-led show that's ran for years. Xena, two versions of Nikita, Wonder Woman further back, and all the recent shows like The Good Wife, Nurse Jackie, Desperate Housewifes, Sex and the City... It's staggering, but it's only in recent years that media controllers have really started catering to the 'female demographic'. This isn't a complaint it's a positive, but it's obvious how many mediums are now 'female-friendly', even if all that means is toning down what was making it outdated in the first place. I noticed it as far back as Titanic when things started to shift. Sadly, James Cameron has gone too far and devoted his life to blue-coloured faux-romantic eco dross, but the studios at least realised women might enjoy films too. Little of it's good for the average bloke, but it's still something we needed to get past It's been a bigger cultural shift too of course. Other examples are the women utterly addicted to video games just like the blokes, Marvel realising that women and minorities might enjoy their comics too, even page 3 seems to be on it's way out lol.

As you know I work for a 'male' TV channel and it was only last year we launched TLC which is directed more at women. It was around in other regions such as US and Germany but they've only recently started launching it in more European locations. The best female lead show I can remember from years ago was Roseanne which I loved and nearly all the cast members from that have gone on to bigger and better things. P.S. Roseanne favourited one of my tweets this morning

I used to love Roseanne on Four in the 90s.

They only started advertising TLC recently in Germany. Maybe it is only just coming to free view.
I remember watching TLC back in the UK before I moved to Germany. Back then it was The Learning Channel...

I'd just like to raise the point in my OP that I said female-led super hero show. Of course there's been loads more successful shows with female leads. I commented on Alex's post specifically because Buffy could pass for a superhero, having special powers from birth but not activated until the previous Slayer to her died. I suppose at a stretch Echo from Dollhouse could be seen as a sort of super hero, but certainly not as clear-cut status as Buffy.

The Blacklist is not nearly as good as the IMDB rating suggests. Yes James Spader is good and some of the back/side story is intriguing but for the most part the acting is pants, the CGI very noticeable, fight sound effects out of the 80's and the episodic plots full of holes and stupidity.

The Blacklist is utterly wonderful and you've clearly taken a blow on the head at some point.
