That's rubbish! Bad Amazon! To be fair, it's probably the studio that's withholding it's release. Mark

XKCD 396 For no reason whatsoever, that strip reminds me of Bally. Sorry dude.

Want a giggle? Check out Em cartoons. For all you non-londoners she has been a favourite in the free London Paper which is closing this week. I guess it's another casulty of the recession. I particularly like the knicker one: http://www.emcartoons.com/august-2009/

A slightly strange question, but this has always confused me and the receptionist gave me a strange look when I asked her about it!
When I check into a hotel, I present my debit card and they do an authorisation for usually between £50.00 and £100.00. This figure comes off the "Available balance" at my bank, as I would expect. If I simply walked out of the hotel without paying the following morning, could they recover more than the amount they had authorised at check in? For example, I stayed in a hotel the other night for £79.00, yet they only authorised £50.00 from my card.
Peter.

I am pretty certain that they cannot just take the remainder, but they have enough info / evidence to get your details out of the bank. Then you're up for theft, not just the difference.

Our incoming uber-boss apparently wants to introduce a dress code (I'm currently sat here wearing an Alchemy Gothic t-shirt and jeans to give you an idea) - nothing like introducing yourself by p1ssing people off (it's been smart clothing only when necessary here for decades now) I honestly don't know if I could do this dull ass job sat here in a shirt and sensible trousers with uncomfortable shoes

Just had another very quiet meeting. Motivation is definitely lacking, and this office is not a fun place to be right now.

My dvd entertainment "Cloverfield" just went all buzzy and crashed the computer Question is, do I start it up again and risk it happening again?
