The uni should be able to accommodate you if you don't have any other accommodation, then again I recall what happened in your first year...

One thing a developer should never do to a developer is mess with their dev studio settings.

I enjoy having to reconfigure my menus as much as I am sure they would enjoy rearranging their face

Back in secondary school the computers would forget all of your settings when you logged off, it meant that when I logged in to use Word I'd have to go and configure the menus to list everything (rather than giving you what you thought it wanted) and getting rid of the canvas box when creating graphics. Pi55ed me off!

As for dev settings, I've always used my Mac where I could, people tend not to play with it :P

That is one thing, closing resharper, power tools and all my watch/local windows when debugging is not only stupid it's a PITA as I have to start all over again.

The "You're wrong because that isn't how we do it here" (ignoring any rationale or established design principles) and the opposing view of "I don't agree with/fully understand your view so I'm going to start every retort with 'no' and just speak louder and louder until I have my way" is getting pretty irritating now. It's even worse it's from a junior dev, the technical director is sound but this lackey seems to think they know their stuff.... yet didn't even know how to debug code or use breakpoints (or even make a console app) until they were shown.

Not to blow my own trumpet... but wtf are they teaching in colleges/universities?!?

A syllabus that's 10 years out of date, plus they've removed all the "best practice" bits that were timeless - because the teachers couldn't understand them.

I saw their ring leader interviewed on the TV years ago, and he came across as the most enormous cock. YMMV.
