I walked to work today ! Happily it was 10 mins away.

Wife set off for her school at 7.30 and my son got a call from her boss at 8.20 telling her the school was closed ! She arrived home around 12.30. It's something like a 30 mile round trip. I think she'll be staying in bed tomorrow.

We're north Notts area btw.

That's handy. I've got a 30 mile drive back home from Farnham to do (no snow here yet either)

Actually, it'll be a bit sad if the capital misses out on it. It's bloody brilliant snow, proper powder not your slushy or icy stuff. Guy in the next street made a snowman that must have been something like 7 foot high out of it. Plus they'll all have to go to work tomorrow whereas we'll all be taking the day off :).

This morning was a bit of a shocker, but there's no excuse for tomorrow.

If you do go to work, be extra careful, OK?

Thank you.

Who was it that said the snow and ice would only last a few days? I've lost count, but I don't think the ice has fully melted on the roads around here for over 3 weeks now.

Worst thing is, it's the coldest weather is usually in February so it could stay like this for weeks to come...

Heavy snow up here, more on the way. I'm close enough to hoof it though (about an hour's march) but the place was desolate today.

There are now a couple of inches in Godalming and it's still snowing.
