I have felt so ill for the last few days, ever since eating a McDonald's meal last weekend. I have just phoned NHS Direct and have been given authorisation for Tamiflu :(

Peter.

At least you got authorisation

I have waited 10 months for a refferal to a consultant surgical team for the infection I got while staying in Reading

I was meant to have on Tuesday (originally Monday but they said it was the wrong date)

So I showed up

Not being told WHERE it was (and not many in the hospital either) I spent 10 minutes looking for the place, found it, presented my appointment slip & took a seat

Got a bit of a funny look from the receptionist as I wasn't on the system (despite having an NHS appointment card)...so she spoke to the consultant surgical people....

They sent me to the wrong f***ing surgical cosultant team! The team I was sent to didn't deal with the surgery I require and I have had to apply for ANOTHER refferal (after going into the GP pretty pissed off about it) and was told they would call me yesterday and was told they would call me... they didn't

And to top it off the infection has flared up again meaning I'll now probably get another 3 weeks antibiotic course taking me over my birthday and stopping me drinking (and making my cold/flu even worse)

...and I hate large trackpads on laptops... I much prefer the nipple style mice or just a regular mouse unless the trackpad is good quality (as in recessed and NOT glossy)

This is a slightly strange question, but I have never been able to swallow tablets. Is Tamiflu available in a liquid form, does anybody know?

Cheers,

Peter.

I thought it was a nasal spray. My mum's was, although I guess it might have been a different product I'm thinking of.

Probably best wait for a doctor to answer

Do you have a temperature?

Tamiflu is for a viral infection.... it's even been found to be unable to treat some of them. Depending on how you have been ill depends on if it's bacterial, viral or both

Saying that it's your own fault for going into MacDonalds

And try being unable to sleep for 3 days because of severe pulsating pain when sitting, lying down on your back, bending over or walking... and seepage of an infection, then rinse and repeat while waiting a year to see a surgical consultant to fix an issue that should have been fixed more than 10 months ago. I won't bother to go into the bleeding or the side effects of being on high strength antibiotics for an extended period of time.

Or indeed, anywhere else full of nasty thoughtless infectious people - like the doctors surgery!

I hope you've quarantined yourself, PG?

I'm pretty sure I do have swine flu. I have a textbook list of symptoms and am really struggling to do anything.

I have quarantined myself and have emailed my Mum the authorisation number, so she can collect it in the morning. I will certainly ask her to see if there are alternatives to the large tablets.

I just feel so sorry for myself and am stuck watching some crap on Dave

Peter.
