B****y Symantec!

Got to upgrade the AV software this weekend - 70 machines over 3 sites...

The new AV software allows you to install or remove their package remotely.

Guess what facilities Symantec provide? You got it, install only! I have to remove it from each machine manually! GRRR!

Thank goodness for RDP! At least I can remotely access each machine and uninstall the package!

Are you upgrading v10 to v11?

If so, you can do it in place as an upgrade. It does it for you.

I'm upgrading from Syantec to GData :( Have to uninstall all the machines first, before installing the new software.

Just upgraded my Kernel on my Linux machine.
Seemed a bit too easy.

The other day I found out that one of the housekeeping routines I have to do at work needed 260,000+ records deleting.
That was the most exciting thing that happened to me all week.

Finished mounting a projector to the ceiling of our main conference room and wiring it in.

Why does the machine that's broken have to be the one at the bottom of the stack of machines (I know they should be rackmounted but I haven't been paid yet).
I think I'm going home.

My Dad received a compressed file (.zip) as an email attachment and it's taken over an hour on the phone for him to extract the contents. He still doesn't understand the difference between left clicks and right clicks, so he gets all very frustrated when the context menu pops up when he didn't want it to.

The more frustrating part was that the compressed file contained a single spreadsheet in the end

Peter.
