I hate ATI Radeons. Specifically the X300 as it's giving me literal hell with my Hackintosh project.

Mine did the same Might bung it into a spares box as I was going to get a card with HDCP as I'm thinking about making a hd freesat recorder if I can persuade my parents to upgrade the lnb on the dish but it rules out my opportunity to upgrade for a HTPC with bluray

But I just found out that there's a computer fair on Sunday. Going to pick something up like a 7300GT or a 8400gs or something cheap like that.
It's basically pre X1000 series cards and pre Geforce FX cards are a no-no.

For a Hackintosh, the 7300GT or 7600GT would be best - it is "standard" equipment on the first generation iMac 24", don't think the 8400gs was used on anything, so more likely to get a driver loaded.

Would it not be so much cheaper for Bally to just buy a Mac Mini 2nd hand. How long has this hackintosh project of his been going???

I'd agree with that. Personally, I'd always buy the real thing... Considering either 2 Minis or a 2 13" MBPs for my girlfriend's daughters... Gf would get my old iMac and I'll get either a new iMac 24" or a MBP 17"... But we are looking at buying a house as well... Ho hum...

Nope! I got the mobo, CPU, power supply, hard drive, DVDROM drive and RAM for free. I swapped a AGP 7300GT for this X300, so it hasn't cost me anything really.

I still feel like I'm going to die. According to the local paper, they issued 304 anti-viral treatments in my local area last week and over 17,000 this week I needed to return some items to M&S today, so my sister kindly offered. I gave her my debit card and PIN, yet they wouldn't let her return them because I wasn't present despite it being the original payment card. Today was the last day for a refund too. Peter.
