Looks like the office will shaft me and send me back later this week. They never look at the bloody rota at the start of a job.

That instead of using my phone to ring the pizza place, I used the Internet, on my phone, to place the order.
Sending this from my phone too.

you could also use the internet on your phone to find a map showing you how to walk/drive there, and place the order in person.

I'm going to hit 30 in the next few weeks. I honestly never thought I'd reach this age - it always seemed so far away. All I've achieved is a career. Looking at my friends, most are married, settled, have kids and successful jobs. I feel behind.

I also feel I should be in peak physical health and am nowhere near it. Given that it's all downhill from here, I wonder whether it's too late to get back into training.

I'm 40 and not in peak physical health, but I'm working on it, and that work is showing benefits, so 30 is certainly not too late to get back in to training, in my opinion.

That's Bull Cr@p, my 30's have been my best years to date. I didn't find love or a good life until after 30 and spending the early part of your life working out a good career, deciding what kind of person you are and establishing values, wants, needs, desires is the best possible way (IMO) Living your life isn't about what other people are doing, it's about being happy in yourself before you try and share yourself with other people.

It's not all downhill from here, unless you mean it in the "it's far easier to go downhill than uphill" kind of way, 30's may be the new 20's in pop culture parlance, but they're certainly not the knelling of a death toll!

I think as a kid, I always looked upon thirty as "over-the-hill" age. Before then, you're young, dynamic etc. A lot has to do with your own personal connections and connotations about age.

I really wonder what the next ten years holds.

I was excited to start it. 9 months later, a lot has changed and not all for the better. But it's definitely been more interesting than my 20s so far. And I have 9 years to go!

See it as an opportunity to take stock and learn from your experience thus far. Then adjust the bits you want to improve. You're young enough to do almost anything, but old enough to have some experience and skills behind you. Win.

Age is just a number.
Although my bro-in-law did give me one pearl of wisdom: In your 20s your body looks after you, in your 30s you need to look after your body. Never a better time to get into training.
Friend of mine had an incredibly debauched 20s (I was there for some of the good bits) but now he's quit drinking and smoking, goes to the gym daily and frankly looks in better shape than I was at 18.

I'm nearer 40 than 30 at the end of this year, and so what if my life hasn't taken me where I though it would when I was 21? Am I happier than I was in my mid 20s? Yes.
Do I have regrets about things I didn't do enough of in my 20s? Yes, haven't we all.
My sis in into her 40s and fretting about what to do with herself career wise. I've had to point out that even if she chose to do something else entirely, she's still looking at a ~30 year career in whatever she chooses.
