Leftovers anyone? I'm up to episode 4 now.

Confusing me too much to know what I think of it.

If the book's anything to go by, I wouldn't bother. It's one of these character studies with no plot. It's the new Lost, basically.

Well I like a few of the actors in it and it's only a short series so I'll plod on with it

They will let you down. The best acting in this series is performed by the coffee cups that the people stare wistfully at while the sad piano plays.

AMC cleverly posted spoiler details of the second half of season 5 of the Walking Dead BEFORE the mid season cliffhanger aired in the USA. I unwittingly saw one this morning, which means I know something I didn't want to know before the episode aires this evening.

Yeah, I have an amazing tolerance for bad telly if it's trying to do something unusual, so I did watch to the end of the season.

I'm probably being too unkind to that show, some of the weird religious dudes are fairly interesting. It seems to have a balance problem though. The whole nation going into shock after a traumatic event (9/11) and the irrational reactions could be a promising theme. But they overdid the spooky aspect, and it kind of looks like they will move towards some kind of explanation of how the big event happened, but they would do better not to even hint at a cause. It's the effects that have the potential to be interesting, the causes can only be implausible (see Walking Dead, which makes no attempt to explain the blatantly impossible zombies which ought to have all starved to a second death by now, and which have also taken surprisingly good care of their clothes).

There's a show called How to Get Away With Murder that I'm finding bizarrely entertaining right now. I shouldn't because it's a bit bad and every character is dislikable. But it reminds me of the Secret History (Donna Tartt), so I like it anyway. It also contains one of the most excellent lines of dialogue ever written - you'll know it when you see it.

My fave at the moment is Blacklist. I've seen How To Get Away with Murder advertised. I may look it up.

Thanks for the comments :)

It's not often I mention the company I work for but here's a shameless plug

Idris Elba to take on extreme racing challenges for Discovery Channel series

Now I know why he was in the office a few months ago

Yeah - nothing like realising that the situation being set up will be an exit point for a character. I knew it was coming, so it dulled the event. What a shame. Now we have to wait until February to pick up the story (I hate these mid season breaks).

Flash - A crossover with Arrow, and you're better watching this one first considering the preview in Arrow, but an excellent episode... Minor quibble. Please make Barry less of a dork when he's in the suit. He looks a bit like a kid who's been pushed onstage by his mum

Arrow - One of the best episodes yet :D , with special mention going to the fight scenes and fan service.

Grimm - Some great moments these last few episodes but some truly crap editing and dialogue have weakened things.

I've still to watch SHIELD and about four Walking Deads...

Awful official logo looks awful.

That looks like something X-Factor rejected.

SOA S07 EP13 has now been broadcast. I have saved episode 12 so I can watch them back to back.

Don't want to say goodbye to Gemma and Jax
