The last few pages of the Ranting or Venting thread certainly raised a laugh. Dirty!

Apparently there is a member of the House of Lords called Lady Garden.

Even more ironic given the House of Commons is full of [LIFTED].

We've so many road safety ads over here that they're actually getting funny - having some guy go through a windscreen and then skull-bounce off the ground is just gonna have your younger target audience laughing!

Not because it's funny but because it's ridiculous.

There's a news story running about how fatty foods are good for you and people don't need statins. This has all come from one doctor. The terms used to describe the doctor include: "expert", "top doc", "top cardiologist". Closer reading reveals this doc is a cardiology registrar.

To put that into perspective, if I hadn't gone into general practice, I would have been starting as a registrar two years ago. Worse, this doctor has done no independent research but merely analysed what others have already analysed and drawn a different conclusion. Furthermore, there are professors who disagree with his analysis.

Some doctors think statins are over prescribed, and you need some fat in your diet. There probably are some people who's health would benefit from a fried egg sandwich right now.

It's dangerous to to take general advice to extremes or out of context, as often happens with gossip and the media.

I agree. I switched to butter from margarine because of the other stuff in margarine. I worked out that I probably eat less that half the average daily saturated fats (30 grams) even with butter. I try and eat as little processed food as possible and it certainly tastes better. Moderation should be the key, not what you eat.
