We have snow. Snow on the riviera. I can't believe it. The locals are asking who's stolen the colour from the world; I fear sacrifices may follow.

We have snow too. Other half has ventured forth to work across country lanes (the only way there). Head teacher, who lives 2 hours from the school on major routes says that if he can get in, so can everyone else. He doesn’t take into account the more rural areas the rest of the staff live in. They may be geographically closer, but today I suspect that many will be taking a lot longer than normal to struggle in.

Thanks. I just had cornflakes - boo!

Did have the most wicked dinner last night though - home made shepherds pie made with roast shoulder of lamb with a huge pile of cabbage and lots of beef gravy. They weren't particularly large portions but it was very filling. That's the last of the Xmas lamb gone now though.

Hoorah for comfort food! Think blokey is making a ragu tonight so looking forward to that :)

Not much snow here in SE London/Kent. I'm hoping for better snowfall this afternoon.

I had a really fun day in work yesterday. The snow came down exactly as promised at mid-day and just as heavy as I feared. You would have thought that our entire council highways dept was in the Caribbean as we didn't see a plough/gritter for about six hours.

We had an emergency call which should have taken us about six or seven minutes to get to and it took us 55 mins, although to be fair, almost none of this was our vehicle's fault, but more the roads which had become car parks. We only needed a shovel once, despite the fact that we negotiated several steep slopes.

Then, it took us an hour and a half to do a normal travelling distance of around seven miles! One entire town was effectively closed and as it is a major junction, this lead to absolute chaos. I got home two hours late and that's after a finish time of seven o'clock- not rush hour time.

I am quite disappointed today. My boys' school is closed and I'm stuck with them. I was going to go and find some wonderful snowscapes to photograph, but now I'm pretty much stuck. If I took them with me, they'd drive me nuts and I don't have time to get them prepared for the conditions as well as me.

Only about 6" here, but we've decided to work from home.

40% of our staff have no car due to accident or breakdown, 20% are hospitalised, 20% are building snowmen and 20% are on x404 when they should be working.

I may actually get some "proper work" done today, without pesky customers annoying me on the phone all the time :D

I've just walked to the local garage as I'd run out of milk & bread and the lady in front of me bought 5 bottles of milk  and not the small ones either.

That's what Radio Surrey was saying (before I had to turn it off as it was so amateurish!).

BTW Edd, you need to sort your Avatar out, it says your account hasn't been accessed for 90 days.
