I tend to like saying "it's done, but there's blood everywhere" gets them off the phone fast enough

Is that how you answer the phone? If so, that is also brilliant, but as I have prospective employers phoning the land line, that might not be the best idea, at the moment.

Nobody calls my landline so I know it's going to be a sales call if it rings

I was daydreaming earlier and was convinced i was at a Nicki Minaj concert. Then i realised i'd been watching a homeless bloke screaming at a pigeon

Where can I find?
A sturdy box of either plastic or metal, cheap, preferably novel and easy to find, of the following internal dimensions; w 70mm, h 40mm, l ~100mm.
I have gathered all of the required pieces necessary to construct an Oxygen analyser, but now need a box suitable to house it. NZ isn't known for its wide choice of project boxes in electronic shops, so I need something novel. I've considered; pencil cases, tackle boxes, tobacco tins, handheld games machine and many others, but nothing quite meets my requirements. Perhaps something comes to your mind that I may not have thought of, thinking outside the box so to speak.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Something like this? It is a bit long (150 x 80 x 50), but otherwise is about the right size. 2.91€ in Germany, don't know what sort of parts suppliers you get in NZ.

Saw an interesting documentary this morning. It was talking about the rise in gluten free products and how many people who don't have a gluten allergy are still getting ill when they eat cereal products. A group of gluten researchers then switched from looking at gluten in cereals to looking at what has changed in the products. What they came up with was ATIs or amylase-trypsin inhibitors. This is an additive for high yield cereal crops (mainly wheat), which is a pesticide and also helps improve yield. It seems that it also causes gluten allergy like reactions in some people. It is a natural part of wheat, but it seems that in some high-yield wheat it has been manipulated or is found in higher concentration. This is now considered as a likely cause of non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Given that I was having problems with cereals for the last 18 months or so, I found it very interesting. I have now started eating bread again and don't have any problems at the moment, although I put part of the problem down to long-term use of diclophenac and ibuprofen, which are known to be hard on the stomach lining. Now, 8 months after coming off of the tablets, I seem to be able to eat wheat products without any problems, but it got me wondering if an overly sensitive stomach lining combined with ATIs was causing my problems (stomach cramps and diarrhea), as not eating gluten products stopped the effects, even though testing for gluten intolerance was negative. http://ultimateglutenfree.com/2012/12/n ... c-disease/

I have cramps with white bread here but not in France. Always thought it was due to the bread here not being proved properly. Interesting.

I've updated the post above, now a link to the source article. Also these are natural pesticides, but have been strengthened / higher concentration in modern wheat sorts.

Thanks Dave, I can get hold of little project boxes like that one, but I'm really after something with a novelty factor rather than a "beige" box. I have today found a Lego electronic pencil sharpener that I'm contemplating. It's a little large for my needs, but does have two features that I can utilise, an aperture and a 9v battery compartment. It even comes with a mini figure, and I can used the head as a knob for the calibration potentiometer.

Just watched The English National Ballet Company perform on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury. Normally I find performance dance quite.. well, it's not my thing. But that was amazing.

The iPlayer volume slider has always gone up to 11, hasn't it? It's been an in-joke for ages.
