Late 80's, early 90's? Things along the lines of Stone Roses and Grooverider. Definitely a spandex and hairspray free zone.

With the exception of Roses and TRHCP, I never took to any of those other bands

You lot are way too intellectual for me.
I was listening, virtually exclusively, to taped (on SA90s) Top 40 shows and Pete Tong's Essential Selection in the late 80s/early 90s. Then I got into acid house, then jungle and then most sub-genres derived from what Joe Schmo would call "dance" music.
I didn't discover music played by instruments, or rapping, until the mid 90s!

License to Ill was a classic, and yes, it was on rotation.

+1 Although the Inspirals were a bit too flopsy for me.

Ooh I should probably add in a flirtatious period of NWA, Eazy-E and Public Enemy.

Went to Goose Fair today. Took the Vivi and some Velvia 100F. Pointed it towards the sun to get some of that lens flare Vivi owners carp on about. Will see how they come out (Xpro).
I did feel a little daft getting the Vivi out surrounded by LOADS of DSLR users. I can only imagine what they thought!

When I'm out shooting (heck, even when I'm not shooting) I'm always taken with admiration when I see someone else using a film camera. Mark

I kinda hope this is the feeling people have for me. I fear though that given the Vivis inability to resemble even the most basic camera (I love it buy by god does it look like junk!) I imagine they're secretly taking pity

Now that brings back memories. Used to live not far from there.
