Flies I can handle - they're mainly just buzzy and stupid. Now, mosquitoes (or anything that's partial to having a nibble on me) I'd be more than happy to kill off in droves.

Flies have their uses, mosquitoes do not.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Considering there are about 3,500 species of mosquito and only a couple of hundred of those bite and only the females (who need blood protein to develop their eggs) we don't do too badly. According to this article though there are mixed views on how big an impact it would have if we wiped out Anopheles: http://www.nature.com/news/2010/100721/full/466432a.html

If I didn't live with the special ones there wouldn't even be flies in the house.

Every shop I work for has their own suggested equipment range, normally based on profit margins rather than quality. As such I'm expected to use as much of that equipment as possible. That means I have collections of dive gear in many different countries now, much more than I need. To be fair I have purchased it generally for cost +vat, but it still costs a fair bit especially as the industry isn't know for paying that well. Well a new deal with a supplier means a better deal for me, much better. The idea is that I'll get a full set of brand new gear every year at a massive discount. At the end of the year I sell it and buy a new set. The discount is such that I'll be able to sell it quickly and still make a profit. So why the ranting? Well it means I now have another set of gear to buy.

If my check-in at the heliport isn't until 1pm on Monday, why the hell are the office flying me up to Aberdeen on Sunday rather than on Monday morning? All they had to do was wait two hours to confirm the check-in time before booking my flight up, but noooooooo....

Why do people pay good money to go to the theatre and then proceed to talk throughout the play. Effing bastards.
