Well I doubt that you will get much out of them. I expect that they will be looking to sell accessories rather than give them away like normal. I hope you like it. I am opting for the White 32Gb with Tesco as soon as I know what it will cost, and once it is out.

I might see if they have any of the bumpers in stock. See if I can get something off it?

Who knows they may have bought a load cheaply and will want to get rid of them.

Gracious.
3 have finally sent me a text saying “Thank you for your recent interest in iPhone 4. We're sending you an email in the next few days to keep you updated.”

Yes, that's right, they've texted me to say that I might hear something in the next few days. On email.

Oh, so, does anyone want to buy my spare car?

I'm holding off from updating my 3G, apparently it doesn't even get the new wallpaper feature.

Steve said that the hardware may not be up to running some of the more advanced features.

My iPhone is jailbroken and it runs custom wallpaper and a theme. The hardware is fine for that. There is no impact on battery life.

From a CNET review http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-20008259-233.html
Quote:
Home screen customization
Unlike the previous three features, this change was low on our wish list, but Apple's done a decent job rolling it out. Sure, you always could change the standard black background using a third-party app, but iOS 4 adds the native capability to the iPhone and iPod Touch. First, find the "wallpaper" option in the Settings menu and choose either a provided wallpaper or a photo in your camera roll. After making your selection, you'll have the option to set it as the wallpaper for your home screen, the lock screen, or both.

It's all straightforward, but there are a few troublesome trade-offs. First off, we can't fathom why the iPhone 3G didn't get this option. Also, keep in mind that once you ditch the standard black background, there's no way to get it back. You can take a photo of a black wall, the night sky, or a dark room, but that's hardly the same thing. And don't be surprised to find that some of your native wallpapers have been replaced by new options. Apple giveth, and Apple hath taken away.

That bit about not being able to get the black background back is a bit odd if true.

Have updated my 3G.
A bit disappointing really & no custom wallpaper on app screens. Still, this isn't a train smash.
I do like the threaded mail however and the folders work well.
Would have liked 'multi tasking' though ..
Also all my photos have become REALLY low res .. apparently a re-sync fixes this.

More advanced features? That has been a feature of every OS since the original Mac (well, you could have different background textures)! That said, I probably wouldn't miss it anyway.

I'm hearing too many 3G upgrade fails so I'm not going to do mine.
I'll just back up and sync before setting up my iP4.

Ouch. That's a hell of a price to pay for the phone when you're paying £30 a month too.
