You\'ve got one big bunch of people downloading iOS 7 and another big bunch of people trying to download digital copies of GTAV. Between the two of them I suspect they're hogging the internets a bit.

Plus you need to download iTunes 11.1 to load iOS 7 as well, plus I had 49 apps that needed updating as well.

Updated mine fine on the iPhone. Didn't use iTunes.

That is what I did in the end.

Thanks hifidelity2, I'll keep that in mind. We're certainly heading down that road.

It seems my boss for the current job I'm is clueless about the type of mud system we're running here, and why we're running it that way.
Thankfully the people on the rig know what they're talking about, so I can just ignore him.

He absolutely shat himself when I told him we'd added 10kg/m3 of Suspentone earlier.
He seems to be missing the point that unlike on most mud systems, Suspentone is the primary viscosifier here to half avoid barite sag.
He's also oblvious to the fact that the mud he sent out last week had ardly any in it.

iOS 7 has borked my phone.

It errors out with a message that it can't update the phone due to an unknown error (4005). Clicking more info opens a site that is of no bloody help whatsoever. Rinse and repeat.

It seems I can't even restore the earlier backup either. Great, I now have a pretty paperweight.

This any help?

I was going to suggest you try installing it via iTunes - I believe you need to update it to the latest iTunes 11.1 in order to do that though - just going by what I've read, I can't update my iPod touch (4th Gen) to iOS7 anyway.

Thanks, I'll look into it.

I did install via iTunes - I updated iTunes and it asked me if I wanted to install iOS 7.

Yep, that worked (after a fashion). Thanks Steve, I at least have a working phone. :)

After re-connecting it with my machine, It has lost half my apps, all my music and all my calendar info. At least it restored my phone contacts.

Not exactly the seamless update I was hoping for.

On the plus side, I like the quick access to key settings like brightness and wifi etc.. They've finally taken a leaf out of the jailbreakers' books.

You must have been really unlucky. I had problems getting iTunes 11.1 installed, It wanted to load iTunes 11.0.5 on one machine and I could not link to it. I found a link on the other machine and download that. By copying across my network I was then able to install it. Though I had to do it from the phone. It could not be done via iTunes. The same was true for the iPad. But both devices are up and running without any problems.

OS X seems to be going through a difficult phase at the moment. My bosses MacBook Pro connected to our domain without problems, my 23" iMac connected, but I can't log onto the domain with it... :?

Then it refused to allow me to update iLife, because somebody had used their private Apple account to register the iMac, before they left the company, then suddenly, after 12 months of refusing to update, it decided to automatically update them last week. There seem to be a lot of inconsistencies creeping in. I hope they can get it back under control.

Still trying to sort out this BS in work and potentially I'll be getting a phone call. Phone rings, I answer, silence.

I call the number and it says 'thank you for using call back, you'll be given an opportunity to leave a message, yada yada yada...' I'm none the wiser if that was a call I was waiting for. I really don't need that :x

^^^They're the spam callers. I've had a few which is annoying as I use the mobile phone for important work calls as well as personal use.

I couldn't find it last night. Figured someone had stored it elsewhere. Was hankering for it today and it's nowhere to be found. Everyone in the house brushes their teeth.

Painfully slow internet tonight, barely getting 1/10th of the speed I'm suposed to get, typically when I need to download an ISO from MSDN, 5 hours to go..
