I heard them called “wisdom stripes” a while back. My wife, who is a little bit older than you are, is having people ask her if her white stripe was put in by a salon, and where she got it done.

Nope, she's the Bride of Frankenstein. One of the more well known hairdos in cinema that is.

For all the chauvinistic arseholery they displayed, the do have a point with Popeye.

I'm not a comic book fan, but I do know my Norse mythology and Thor was always portrayed as a male. You can't mess around with ages old mythology like that. Replace him with another character, that is female, but changing the sex of a god for no reason?

As to Wonder Woman, the original outfit was skimpy and chauvinistic, but the new outfit is so bland, you wouldn't notice that she was a superheroine.

The thing that strikes me is, if you follow the norse religion, portraying Thor as female is like portraying Muhammed or Christ as female. I wonder when Marvel are going to do either of those?

Unless there's some outright racism, it shouldn't even have become an issue.

I saw that and was peed off no end. Tom and jerry cartoons were good fun. It's a bit like censoring Fawlty Towers or Only Fools.

I remember, when I was young, Tom and Jerry was considered bad, because it portrayed 'cartoon' violence, where nobody got seriously hurt or rather in the next scene they were unblemished again. That was supposed to have led to people hitting each other 'cartoon style' in the playground.

I suppose that they will be asking for re-writes of Uncle Tom's Cabin next...

Gah! Was sitting on the sofa and when I got up, I forgot I had placed an empty glass next to me. Ikea glasses shatter in a million pieces. Had to put the dog in her cage, while I cleared up the mess...
