Oh, and fin, hope you get to a good resolution soon. And yes, do the exercises. AFAIK, as he's the one who hit you, his insurance should be forking out big time.

She/her not he/him :)

Why does everyone assume it's a man that caused it :P

Exercises? I just got told to take anti inflammatories like ibuprofen but its been bad today (probably as i couldnt sleep and didn't stop with the shakes until late) but I've been getting pins and needles in my left arm so going to see if it's just a twinged nerve and go see the docs at some point

Going to call the local personal accident solicitors tomorrow as they have come highly recommended and I need to sort out getting a proper valuation for the car, hire car and costs sorted out

Got a text from her insurers today with a number to call and reference number for it but they seem to imply I would claim against my own insurance.... yeah right!

If you've not been given exercises, you've not seen a physio. Something you must rectify ASAP. Ibuprofen won't cut it, you need Diclofenac. I think you can still buy it over the counter as Voltarol in either 12.5 or 25mg. Bear in mind that it's likely you've completely torn several muscle strands connecting your neck with your shoulders. And that's at a minimum.

No need for an ambulance chaser. The most you can probably get is £2500 as I already said. Just get yourself checked out and see what the prognosis is on the NHS. I'm guessing from the pic and your description you'll be well on your way inside a week and most of the tissue will be repaired inside a month. But clearly, I'm not a medical expert. I've just been in a couple accidents and talked to a lot of medical experts ;)

If the prognosis is similar to what I've suggested, weigh up how much that's worth and threaten the 3rd party's insurer with legal action until they capitulate to a cheque. It's not difficult honest.

But before all that make sure you get some Diclofenac stat! Get well soon buddy :)

Listen to this man.
Diclofenic is the only thing that helped my pain management after I had my accident a few years ago. It never got rid of the pain totally, but it did reduce it considerably.
It's the only thing that helped outside of morphine that I had whilst in the hospital immediately afterwards.

It's less ambulance chaser (had 3 calls from them today thanks to the RAC having an accident DB that things like this go in, promising me anything from 2k to 7k with guaranteed payout.... that isn't what I am interested in tbh, I just want to get it sorted) and more getting a car to use while it's getting repaired and the potential cost of physio and any other treatments that the NHS wouldnt cover etc, as I'm 3rd party I haven't gotten legal cover for my existing insurer to cover the hassle

Going to get an appointment to see my doctor on monday morning if I still have pins + needles in my arm and ask about the physio stuff as well as about my sore neck on the left hand side with the muscles and sore shoulder, the neck I noticed at work was a bit of a hindrance with 2 widescreen monitors and having to turn my whole body to look between them. My gf's dad was in a worse situation and it took him a couple of years to get back to strength and sort out the claim (he was hit by a taxi then another car)

On the plus side the cake that was in my car wasn't too badly damaged, just a bit squished (in the boot on it's own pretty much lol)

It seems that it took TheFrenchun 3.5hrs to make it to Coventry from London, going via Stafford. FAIL.

Fin, you should not be at work FFS!!!!!

Your neck needs to be supported constantly until you go for that appointment on Monday. Get the diclofenac and sit tight until you've seen someone. You could easily aggravate your injuries at this stage.

Will do, my only concern is not getting such pay atm but I'll need to have a sit down with work to talk about it when I can

I'm increasingly of the opinion that they shouldn't exist at all...

Terminate Me

Image

£free

Another fun free app for those times when you’re the first one in the pub and you need to look busy with your phone. The basic idea: take a picture of yourself, make it look like you’re a terminator. No scalpel to the eyeball though, please.

If you're the first one in the pub, you should getting the drop on your mates and scoping for chicks to talk to. Not looking at your phone.

Jus' sayin'
