Why do you feel the need to eat so much while watching a film?

Probably longstanding habit. Have always had something to eat at the cinema. Can easily do it at home too - sit and watch TV and have a meal at the same time. Have always hated just sitting there along with my food.

I can't even have toast now without having something to read at the same time. It's allegedly bad for you since your brain apparently doesn't realise you're full. Like I wasn't gonna stuff myself later anyway... Also, I partly do it because even something as simple as a cereal now doesn't taste as good as it used to

Probably since my teens I've always had something to read whilst having breakfast in the morning and on the bog. I could probably lunch and dinner eat in silence but typically i'll eat lunch whilst at my desk and on the computer at work. Dinner we eat at the table but the TV is usually on. If I'm eating alone, I'll be in my room and watching TV.

For the most part I normally find SSE (Scottish and Southern Electric) to have generally good customer service.

It falls completely flat on its face when you want to switch tariff.

So I phone up and, in fairness, I did get through straight away. I say I want to switch tariff so we do the usual identity confirmation bit which is fine then the operative says he'll put me through to the switching team. Queue a short time on hold when he comes back to apologise that the switching team are so busy they're only doing call backs within the next week
However I can complete the application process online which is quicker because an operative doesn't have to sit there and read out all the terms and conditions.

Now, there was a reason I phoned up. While the online process is straight forward, even if you're an existing customer you can't complete a tariff switch from within your online account - you have to do it, in effect, as a new customer including filling out your address and payment details again. Detail that, as an existing customer, they already hold.

I really would like to meet whichever pillock thought this was a good idea to explain where they've gone wrong with the aid of a large pointy stick and no lube.

Due to a number of things, I'm skint.
I should be in Exeter having a good night out with someone I've not seen in ages and instead, I'm at home. Doing marking.
Arse.

Arse.

I know the feeling. Haven't worked since late July and the lack of cash is pissing me off.

Plane delays, almost 24 hour delay getting home from holiday, and another 20+ hours either stuck in airports or on a plane

So, I have a Mac at home and, as with a great many people, a PC at work.

I've been offered some work on overtime which I can do from home via Citrix. It transpires however that the current Citrix receiver (11.8.2) has some sort of conflict with OS X 10.9.5. It's a doozy - the keyboard doesn't work. As the job involves a fair amount of typing this is a bit of a problem. It'll apparently be fixed in Received 11.9... whenever that comes out.
There is a work around but it's all a bit of a pain in the backside.

If it's just a temporary thing, could you try installing a Windows VM using something like Virtualbox (you can get 90 day trials of Windows without paying) and then install the Citrix receiver inside the VM?

I suspect I could but I've not done anything with VM's before and my mate works Saturdays so I'll just come in to work and do the overtime there rather than faf about with the dog slow Citrix connection - the keyboard thing isn't the only problem I encountered (Excel won't show the message bar to get out of protected mode for some reason) so it's just as well I checked in advance.
