I met Rach (previously described as Mrs Blue) when we were both still at college. But obivously we've now gone our seperate ways, in fact it got a bit nasty recently, and we no longer talk.

There was an awkward moment yesterday when I went swimming at the pool in town, and she was there with a friend of hers (who used to also talk to me), as I got in and noticed them I think the whole pool probably heard me sigh "f*ck".

Neither of them said anything to me and they both got out about 2 minutes after I got in. It all seems a bit silly to me, but I can't say I was bothered.

All my girlfriends have been friends or friends of friends. My wife lived next door to a bloke I went to school with. He'd recently moved to the village and I saw him in the gym. I knew I recognised him from somewhere and he recognised me too. After looking at each other repeatedly for about three weeks, I eventually plucked up the courage to say, "do I know you" as continually looking at other men in the gym can be a bit off-putting for them!

Anyway, we became friends after that and he and his then fiancée (now wife) decided that they should set me up with their single neighbour. Neither Sarah nor I were particularly keen on being set-up, but we got on very well and arranged a date after the meal. Now two and a half years later, we're married.

How I know that feeling. It's not particularly fun having to juggle your friends around because one doesn't like the other etc.

Been there, done that.
