Fifteen minutes IMO is enough time to prepare a meal.

A snack IMO should take no longer than five minutes to prepare and five minutes to eat.

+1

The other requirment is not to much (if any) washing up afterwards

Generally Tea and either biccies or toast if late at night

If its just "I have the munchies" the what ever leftovers I have can normally be turned into something

To my mind, a snack is something that leaves a packet and enters my pie hole without intervening preparation or thought.

So, biscuits or crisps. :D

Maybe be we should have a 'what is a snack' thread as we clearly all have very different views on the matter

That's pretty much any meal for me.

I can tuna (in brine or water preferably, drained)
2 eggs
3 tabs mayo
1/4 pint of milk
Salt n pepper
Herbs (optional)
Handful of grated cheese
Small tin or sweetcorn or a handful of frozen (cook in microwave 3 mins)
or Celery
Or Onion
Or anything else you fancy mixing it with

Mix it all up in a medium bowl, greese an oven proof dish or multiple ones if you wish to have portions then add the mixture.

Bake on a low oven (150/170) for about an hour until the top is golden brown and serve with hot buttered toast.

Serves 3/4 moderate portions of 1 large for a greedy bastard :)

Midnight snacks will never be the same again!

TBH, "Tuna Mousse" sounds absolutely disgusting; yet, your recipe for the same looks very tempting.

That does sound very nice but how much, (using "proper" measurements please ;) ) is a "tab" of mayo?

Tab is tablespoon. It's one of those recipes where you don't have to be exact, it is very hard to muck up. I tend to cook by instinct rather than measuring scales.

OK, that makes sense. I'll try and get round to making this, (probably on Monday) and let you know how it goes.

Try it - absolutely gorgeous! My boyfriend was the same until he tried it now he scoffs any left overs before I get a chance to get at them! Great as a supper, starter or a 'snack'.

I also make Tuna pie by mixing a tin of tuna and some sweetcorn in 3/4 pint of cheese sauce and making sure it's warmed though. Place in an oven proof dish and top with mashed potato and grill until brown.

I expect a full written report Mr JV with pictures if possible and I will be marking it appropriately *stern look*

:D
