I remember that show. It was always on at stupidly late-o'clock.

Quite enjoyed it though.

Something like 23:00 on a Friday iirc. I was at Uni and saw most of the episodes drunk.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

X Files had some great episodes in Season 1 such as Squeeze, Fallen Angel and Tooms.

I would plump for any pilot episode of a Supermarionation series, in particular Thunderbirds 1x01 'Trapped in the Sky' and Captain Scarlet ep1 'The Mysterons'.

The Captain Scarlet pilot is particularly well paced and throws a n00b right into the action.

The last 3 minutes of Trapped In The Sky still stress me out even now!

I know, brilliant isn't it? Here's the bit of Captain Scarlet which proves just how awesome Derek Meddings was.

And some of the Season 4 episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise, especially "In a Mirror Darkly". Evil Archer was cool, plus Hoshi and T'pol with very little on  and some great tie-ins with TOS as well as CGI treatment for a constitution-class starship.

+1 for the Polymorph Red Dwarf ep.

There have been certain early episodes of Friends where Chandler nearly killed me (I gave up around the time they made Ross mental for little reason though), but the show that really sticks in my mind is the Sopranos ep. where Chris and Paulie are stuck out in the woods together after a botched money collection 8-)

Wasn't that the one where Rimmer wanted to bombard it with a leaflet campaign, or is that another ep.? Either way, it's a line that's always stuck with me :) :geek:

Although this video on YouTube has unfortunately been uploaded in the wrong aspect ratio, the ending of Thunderbirds Are Go also shows what Derek Meddings can do with a bit of extra money for explosions and miniatures. When the superb Zero X crashes a series of blasts like this would have been visible from Mars. :)

That's the one...

One of my favourite rimmer quotes in that episode...

Rimmer wrote:

I think we're all beginning to lose sight of the real issue here, which is: what are we going to call ourselves? I think it comes down to a choice between "The League Against Salivating Monsters" or, my own personal preference, which is "The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society." One drawback with that--the abbreviation is CLITORIS.

Lol!

When i made this thread I knew there would be a lot of Red Dwarf references, because that series was average when it was bad, and absolute genius when it was good. My favourite Red Dwarf episode is "Gunmen of the Apocalypse" Courtesy of You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwuwT6IHfeE

Season 6. I remember it well. Bemoaned by fans of Polymorph and the show pre-season 5, but I'll agree with you, my favourite ep.

I think maybe I was looking at the "greatest" eps ever, rather than just my favourites, before. But this one is up there in favouriteville.

Just watching BSG Season 2 and the three episode arc dealing with The Pegasus and The Resurrection Ship was excellent; probably the best sci-fi I've seen in a long time and on a par with the best of B5 IMO.
