Are you happy that this is a closed space?

You know, I've got my little open sauce Android now and the thing I love about him the most? He has a really half decent camera

I don't think there are any members here who were not a part of the old place, are there??

Zippy was a new recruit introduced by myself & Redeyes, but neither of them visit much these days.

I still read here daily but I find less to comment on than previously. I used to comment in the FPotD threads a lot and that started my day off nicely, but since they all get deleted when the thread gets too long now I don't see much point as it's not a lasting record of my day. I blog in the Silly Plaice a lot more because I know I can look back through my posts to discover when a particular thing happened, or keep account of regular occurrences.

For the mostpart though, I'm not qualified to comment on the compu-geek posts or the pop culture posts, so I read a lot and learn quite a bit, but I don't often have cause to comment.

I'm not here as much as I used to be, mainly because the site has been blacklisted by my employer's browser content filter for some unknown reason. I'm on twitter most of the time now, chatting to mostly ex-dennis forumites. I do have a page on my blog pointing people towards X404 though, complete with a bit of back-story.

I find that although I've been reading (lurking) here since very near the beginning, I don't post that often. I think it's because having read the various posts over the years I feel I know most of the characters, so when I start to write posts it is to people I know. I then read them before posting, realise that as you don't know me, they come across as over familier and so I don't post.

Don't know if that's just me?

I start writing quite a few messages that don't get posted, for several reasons.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

You mean Mac users ;)

I think I probably do like the fact that this is ostensibly a closed space. I have tried to invite friends to partake, but none have. I'm often frustrated here, but that's true of my real life. Overall, I learn and I generally enjoy myself mostly. Of course, if I need a sounding board, it's there.

I don't think many of the things that make this place special in those ways, would apply were it as busy or churning as a massive "open" space kinda forum.

Yeah, I think they outnumber the Mac users.

No, you are not alone (see my post count).

No, you are not alone (see my post count).

I don't know about the other forumites but personally I'd rather you post, even if it is over-familiar. I want to know what other people think; this is especially true of those with with lower post counts as I can usually predict certain members' responses.

So please, both of you, just post. Please?

P.S. Also, if anyone is worthy of posting, it's the man with the Repton avatar. 8-)
