I'm a 'never' for medical reasons. If I have anything more than say half a pint of beer, I wake up next morning (assuming it's in the evening) with really nasty renal colic that can last half a day or so before it calms down. Side effect of a kidney dysfunction I had a few years ago. It's not fun at all. So I just don't bother.

This week has been pretty usual for me. Monday was four pints of cider at skittles and a 33cl "stubby" of beer when I got home. Tuesday; nothing, Wednesday; nothing. Thursday, three glasses of Rose and a bottle of red. Tonight (Friday); a bottle of lager and three pints of cider, plus a bottle of red that I'll probably stop after (I'll let you know). Tomorrow, pub for lunch, which will probably be two pints of cider, then gentle drinking for the rest of the day and night. Let's say two more ciders and a bottle of red. And sunday will be a bottle of red with lunch.

Actually, when you write it down it sounds awful, but it's mainly because I can. When my daughter gets a bit older and starts waking us up at 6am I should imagine that last bottle of wine won't seem at all appealing.

Special occasions only here. It's not that I've decided to only drink at gatherings - it's just that that's the only time drinking occurs to me.

It's a looooong time since I've been drunk though - I didn't even get drunk on my stag-do. It requires drinking so much that I just can't be bothered.

Said I'd let you know, opened another bottle of red, had one glass and am now going to bed. Shouldn't have done really as it achieved nothing and would like to have been in bed an hour ago. Don't want to miss saturday kitchen.

Tonight I had two pints of homebrew. That's all I've had since last Friday...
Last Friday was the first night out I've had in a fair while, I had about eight or nine pints of beer.

A few bottles of ale or decent lager a week, maybe a bit more over Christmas and if I'm out with friends, but I never get drunk.

Yes the same for me. Only seem to drink when others are around. They are such a bad influence. I can now get drunk remarkably easily two pints of class A (Old Speckled Hen) and I am wasted.

One beer every few weeks or months. We bought beer back in November, for the handworkers who put the bathroom in, they drank a bottle when they finished work some evenings. We still have about half a case. I don't think I've had anything to drink since before Christmas...

From looking at the results I think that few here are affected by excessive drinking or alcohol related liver problems. Maybe we all have better things to do than get wasted. 8-)

Me, not really in the past couple of years, not because of liver issues but my brain would go mentally hot. Not so bad now, a couple of drunken nights in the past year.

Possibly a result of heavy drinking and having fun when younger. I'm sure a 4 pack of kestrel super strength with a small bottle of vodka chaser before going out for the £1 a pint night at the clubs didn't do me any good. :D

I voted pie.

We used to have a wine box, and have a glass with our evening meals. Eventually I got fed up with it. I'm not sure whether it really affected my mood significantly, but I didn't really feel happy of an evening.

So we - BB and I - decided to forego the booze. Most of last year we were dry. We had a little over Chrimble, but I really didn't enjoy it. One glass was enough for me, beyond that the flavour went and each mouthful was just horrible.

So, I guess I'm off the booze, barring an occasional glass on special occasions.

Yes I did similar, when at college. I did have a friend who had a serious drink problem. HIs idea of walking straight was to walk down the central white line on the road and not hit the parked cars on each side.
