It is interesting, but as it is a stop-gap on the road to LightPeak, I don't think it will take off, as long as LP is still on the horizon...

Who is going to swap all their USB hardware for TB hardware, when LP is just around the corner...

I have heard the LP will come in the form of cables with a light transceiver built in.

Ie plug into thunderbolt and it converts it to optic and then back again.
