Well speaking as Londoner I am quite happy they're doing up all the stations and giving us posh new trains. About bloody time too. As for the Olympics not bothered either way. The only sporting event I quite enjoy is horse jumping.

Going to watch it TV. What stopped me from applying for tickets the complete randomness of it all. Not knowing what events you'll get tickets for is daft.

No doubt the BOC decided on the option most likely to guarantee most ticket sales for themselves, rather than what was fair for the spectators. It's not about the sport it's about the capitalism.
