I hear good things about the hyundai i10 and the skoda yeti. One chap I know has a Golf GTI which he keeps as a weekend car. With the saving he makes from not having it as a daily driver, he was able to afford an i10 - including running costs.

Great concept, but I get plenty of smiles from my baby. That said, I totally wouldn't rule out something big, black and thirsty in the future You've made it bigger?! Didn't it used to be a 106??

It's unfair to compare a diesel to a petrol. One litre of diesel contains 38.6 megajoules compared to 34 for petrol. O/T H2 only contains 5.6 which is why it's so cumbersome. The primary factor in fuel efficiency is not engine capacity.
