I use Chrome. It works for me and I like the bookmark syncing. Re what Prof posted, I'm happy for Google to see that I looked at x404, G+, Fb, x404, G+, Fb, some work related search, G+, article on how to use find command, x404, etc... Safari tends to get used for anything that I might not want others to see, mainly because it's fairly easy to reset the browser back to defaults (and any data left behind is sufficiently hard to find). I used to use Camino, but as I was beta testing stuff something broke (can't remember what) and rolling back to the stable version didn't help (even delting prefs didn't help). It was about the time Chrome was getting big and the time I was using multiple Macs about the place. Camino didn't have the bookmark syncing and was broken, Chrome did have bookmark syncing and worked... I wangled a Mac at work because I bought it! If I hadn't I'd have been using pen and paper :/

I'm not in the slightest bit relaxed about the all seeing eye of Google. But then I figure Chrome and Facebook are as bad as each other and I NEVER view anything else on Chrome. That way Facebook don't get to see my browsing habits, and neither do Chrome.

Not that I use Chrome but what's so bad about companies knowing browsing habits? What exactly are you browsing? lol

Doesn't matter what I'm browsing. That information could be used to profile me for any number of purposes. Just like I could dig through your bin and figure out a ton of things about you. (Which incidentally, is one of the techniques employed by trained people when they want to gain traction on you for whatever purpose).
Unless I have a kindle or buy all my "real" books from Amazon (which I massively don't) nobody knows what books I read. Why should they know what websites I read?

Firefox by default. Midori for emergencies. Chromium/Chrome for periodic retesting to see whether it's actually remotely usable yet.

And for the quite a few on here that own both..? Not sure if you mean Forum or Thread, but most of those browsers are available on both platforms. For Mac or PC specific threads, we have the Mac and PC sections.

What about those of us that use neither a Windows PC nor an OSX PC?

When the *Nixers leave, we get to take the internet with us.

Doesn't OS X count as *NIX?

Yes... ... in the same way that Katie Price's figure counts as natural

IE - and it looks like I am the only one Have to use IE (7) at work Have used at Firefox and Crome at home (tried Crome when it first came out and found it really terrible) but couldn't be faffed with trying to learn where they "hid" everything when I know where they are in IE In the end I dont think there is much re speed / security etc between the modern browsers these days
