Didn't they say on QI that the glass was deliberately made thicker at one end so it was easier to install (heavy end at bottom so easier to balance)?

Glass can be drawn, or cast on a table then polished. All of these methods create glass than is not perfectly flat. Admitedly modern glass which is floated on a tin bath is significantly flatter but drawn continuously. As glass varies between 1mm to 25mm thickness, any panes made during a changeover period would be slightly uneven.

All in all, glass is awesome :D

I got 100%. Not really a nationality test though. More of a history test.

I'd be surprised if most 18 year olds born in the UK would be able to get 100%.

TBH I'd be surprised if they managed 50%.
