I don't mind Doom Bar, but I prefer Tribby. I think I've sampled the Admiral's Ale. Betty Stog though, that must be kept your side of the Tamar.

Really? I haven't tried it (am about to), but I'm assured it's the best there is. Mind you I've also heard similar things about Doom Bar and Tribute, hence I'm also trying those. I got an Admiral's Ale because apparently it was "Supreme Champion" in 2008.

I think the Doom Bar is a little more 'flat' than the Tribute. Trib's a more interesting beer, IMHO.
There's another one that Doom Bar make that's quite nice, but the name escapes me. Red Rocks or something? :?

Have to say I prefer Doom Bar, but the Tribute does have the advantage of being cheaper at the union bar.

Mostly cider for me. At home it's Waitrose strong and dry, out it'd be Thatchers, Stowford Press or Scrumpy Jack. Although I also drink quite a bit of wine of all colours, though mostly red. And the odd Pimms. And Port. And lager on occasion.

Generally speaking, if I'm going out on the beer, then it's a "quality" lager (I used the marks there because I am sure that many will consider that an oxymoron) such as Stella Artois or Carlsberg Export.

If I'm having a meal and most likely one drink only, then it's usually dry cider such as Strongbow or Dry Blackthorn.

If it's available, then it's Irish ale- Caffrey's or Kilkenny.

If I am really going out to get blasted, I tend to reach my limit in sheer volume of beer at four or five pints- I feel bloated and full- and will switch to shorts, usually vodka and orange (squash). This has not happened for a LONG time.

I NEVER drink wine- but I do like a nice dry Champagne.

I don't seem to drink coloured spirits. I drink vodka, Malibu and tequila, but I don't do brandy or whiskey, Southern Comfort or almost any other spirit.

I usually stick to real ales, I try to buy the local ale where possible, but I'm a fan of Bishops Finger, Bombadier, London Pride, Speckled Hen and pretty much anything from the Purity brewery.

Otherwise I enjoy wine, thanks to my dad I'm a bit of a wine snob, I like reds for the mostpart, but also enjoy a good fruity and crsip white, I refuse to drink Chardonnay since it makes me agressive, but I like trying new things. I'm particularly enjoying the Croatian wines and can always fall back on a good South African red.

I'm a bit of a Baileys drinker, but not often, I got a bottle for Xmas last year and only opened it in May! I've also discovered a world of rum and coke, rum and ginger beer, tequila and fanta as well as apple sourz and Apple & Melon J20, I enjoy all of them  I like absinthe but only in small doses and I enjoy a glass of good whiskey.

Mostly I drink Assam tea, the occasional coffee and have just re-discovered Dandelion & Burdock which I used to love as a kid.

My nan used to drink rum and coke when she was alive and it's a drink I enjoy too. A friend of mine brought me back some killer rum from the caribean, drink at your own peril! Rum is definiately my favourite spirit but I am trying not to drink it as I always drink too much!
Don't like ales and JD.
I like a nice glass or 2 of wine, not fussy about red, rose or white. Don't mind vodka as a spirit but it can have evil affects on people. Quite partial to some port too. Very moorish though!

OK, out of all the local ales I've tried, I can report back that Tribute and Doom Bar are made of win. Everything else is either "meh" or bloody horrible.

I haven't had a drink since Saturday, and I've decided not to have anything to drink until September 1st.

I'm going to lay off intoxicating substances and liquids for a couple of weeks!!

My mum reckons I'll feel completely different and decided never to drink again. I doubt it lol

I used to be like that.
I'm not any more.
I used to be able to drink all night long, spring out of bed and still put in a good school day.

I guess that means you hate me too, since I've never had a hangover ;)

The difference is that I've managed to get to, (almost) 41 years old without having had one... keep us updated, Nick :P
