Really sad to hear this. Having lost my own Dad to cancer I know how the disease ravages the body in the final stages. It's a disgusting, horrible disease.

RIP JJ. You will be missed.

Please remember all how important it is to support Cancer Research UK.

I got lucky to be able to meet with a childhood friend a couple weeks ago who has a very lucky turn, and going to see him again in the next few months. You never know until it's too late :(

I will be donating to Macmillan and Maggies centre later.

The world seems a little less silly this morning.

Condolences to his friends and loved ones, at this most difficult of times.

R.I.P Jason. We will never forget the warm, funny and genuinely nice character known to us as JJ.

:(

Woah. That genuinely brings you up short. I'm really sorry to hear it. I liked JJ, even though I didn't actually even know his real name.

Indeed. When I saw the thread title I was dumbfounded.

Goodbye JJW009, you will be missed.

Ditto.

RIP and commiseration's to all his friends and family.

Most people here are just avatars and accompanying text. At times it's easy to forget that behind those is a person with their individual frailties. Unless we know that person, it's just too easy to assume that all is well unless a post says otherwise.

JJ's avatar is still in my Tapatalk "unread" list. A bit of a jolt to see it there this morning.

Many thanks to everyone who has posted in this thread. It's good to know that JJ was so well thought of by you all and I'm very sad that many of you will never now get to know him in real life.

I'm going to miss him terribly.

Wow... I'm struggling for words at the moment.

It's quite a shock to realise how much the passing of someone I've never met has moved me. A testament to the modern age, perhaps, where you draw unrealised comfort just from seeing familiar names and avatars on your screen. My deepest sympathies go to those who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace, JJ.

Dave
