Third post on page one explains the reasoning.

Because the Almighty Blue deemed it necessary. Who am I to argue? :)

Tats. Always consider what they will look like when you're old and wrinkly. What may look the business on nice, firm, taught young skin may look completely rubbish when you've got a saggy epidermis.

You could, I suppose, create a design that works properly when young, but also works when bits of it get lost in folds of skin when you're elderly.

I'm hardly in the first section of that that sentence.

Not much of a reason to be honest.

I trust it will be unstickied when he actually gets the tattoo.

Yep, I did also say you were free to have a moan. So knock yourself out ;)

Heather, I do try and consider what my tattoos will look like when I'm old, or how I'll explain them; usually I convince myself it'll be alright. ;)

Plus you can get them removed these days anyway.

Have they come up with a way to do it now that works? I've seen some real messes left by "removal" before. In most cases it would have been less disastrous to live with the tattoo...

Equally, I hope it's not paid for by tax money into the NHS. If you're scarred accidentally, cosmetic work should be free. If you've intentionally scarred yourself, you ought to cover the cost of cosmetic work yourself. Just my opinion.

As someone with a few tattoos, I completly agree. You got the tattoo and made the decision, you should pay if you want it gone. Personally I don't think I'd ever get one removed, but then I still have the ignorance of youth on my side.

How to turn a thread about tattoos into a political discussion in one easy post.
Heather's sounding more and more like a politician as the days go on. *smirk*

Oh, and apologies for dragging the thread OT.

The words:
"Your Name"

Tattooed anywhere suitable to show in public. Perfect ice breaker to go:
"I'm sure I know you, otherwise why would I have your name tattooed on my (body part)?"
:)

As an inkee I agree, although instead of removal there is the choice to cover up

I really fancy getting another one done in the summer, fancy going for a shoulder to go with what I have now of a phoenix

I've been thinking about this since you posted, and I honestly can't think of anything to suggest. Tattoos have always been such a personal thing to me that I just can't come up with anything. My first thought was an outline of the coast of Oz to signify your new start, perhaps done in Blue ( ) but I think it's really up to you.

I've been planning a Lionfish for ages now, I need to do some serious saving beforehand though, and find a place I'm happy to get it done, both my previous places are our of reach now (and one of them's closed) I'd like to get it done in London one day, but that'll take a bit of planning I guess.
