That’s what we think. We’ll just carry on as normal.

 | | | | Quote: Valentine was a holy priest in Rome, who, with St. Marius and his family, assisted the martyrs in the persecution under Claudius II. He was apprehended, and sent by the emperor to the prefect of Rome, who, on finding all his promises to make him renounce his faith in effectual, commended him to be beaten with clubs, and afterwards, to be beheaded, which was executed on February 14 | | | | |
So find a christian threaten them then beat them then behead them for a true valentine gift!! If I forgot and by this I mean at the very least a card and a kiss. I would be a dead man regardless of wether i thought it was commercial exploitation or not. I voted Pie

I think if you're in the honeymoon part of the relationship, it's not particularly horrendous. It does feel forced if you're in a long-term relationship, out of the honeymoon period.
Personally, I've a lot of heartache so I use this time to think about all my previous failed relationships from the age of 6 to now.

Why save it for then. Bitterness is perpetual. Besides the only way to feel better is fresh-assisted.

I voted Pie, this is a bit of a cop-out really as I do still do the lovey card and silly little pressie thing, but not OTT vomit-making hearts and flowers. My Mister is really considerate and caring towards me all year, I think I am the same in return and tbh if your relationship is such (and I have seen a few in my time) where you need a commercial day in the year to remind you to make your partner happy then it's not going to be a great relationship generally. I've seen girls made rabid during the year by the things their fellas do, and all it takes is a bunch of flowers and a teddy on Valentines Day and they've turned to mush and gone all gooey again. Frankly it makes me sick. So, Happy for V.Day but actually Happy all the time which is much the better way to be IMNSHO

That somehow reminds me of Not The Nine O'Clock News.. Anyway, Valentine's day. Generally speaking I don't partake in it but if other people want to indulge I don't see any real reason to stop them doing so. So I'm 'pie'. Not sure what sort of pie is appropriate for valentine's day though? Strawberry, possibly?

A load of old bollocks, but not bitter about it. Going to a wedding this weekend, which means we'll be staying in a hotel and having the most romantic valentine's we've ever had, completely by chance.

Why celebrate the execution of a Roman? If you are in a happy relationship every day should be special. No need to have every event commercialised.

Meh. I'll be in Bath, but then I often am because I enjoy the company. It's a silly, overcomercialised piece of naff tat. We'll probably do cards, but then we write cards fairly often anyhoo.

PIE. I'm marrying that lovely lady of mine this year but I still can't get interested in this commerical pile of [LIFTED]. If I need that date to make her feel special I should probably give up now...
