I shall shortly be embarking on double pancake dinner/tea/evening meal. Savoury (with chicken in white sauce) and sweet (with whatever I fancy).

My fabulous Mister brought home eggs and butter, then went out to Budgens for milk and we have just had a lovely pancake-fest with sugar, lemon juice and maple syrup. I licked my plate clean and feel slightly sick now  Absolution and Penance before Lent (which I'm giving up) by stuffing myself silly with sweet, sticky food  _________________The Official "Saucy Minx"  This above all: To Thine Own Self Be True "Red sky at night, Shepherds Delight"..Which is a bit like Shepherds Pie, but with whipped topping instead of mashed potato.

I find it eccentric how on pancakes day people actually go out their way to eat pancakes when you can eat pancakes anytime, how very bizzare, if there was apple day? or cookies day? would all you normal humans blindly follow this weird event?  _________________

LOL, I was just thinking this earlier today. I can eat pancakes any day of the year and I love them. But I only ever eat the on pancake day

shrove tuesday is a christian event. It has to do with getting rid of stocks before beginning of lent, Bratty Hence why i can't understand why my shop doesn't do anything for xmas, but pushes shrove tuesday.
