Beautiful. Wondrous, whimsical, funny, sweet, scary and in HIGH DEFINITION!!

Moffat and Smith make a wonderful show. Call me a romantic and a sentimental old fool, but that is everything entertainment should be. Smith's Doctor is once again excited to be alive and doing what he does best. I loved it!

My opinion for what it is worth (not much I know  ) is that he has such big shoes to fill but it is very promising. With Moffat as the guiding hand I personally think there is a bright future for DW (crap logo aside).

Edit Best looking companion in a long while, especially dressed as a police officer.. drool :P :D

That's the second bad comment regarding the new DW logo and I quite like it :D

Well, specifically the DW/TARDIS monogram design thingy.

Thank Auntie for iPlayer. I've just watched this, and I'm very happy :)
The new doctor and new assistant meet with my approval :D

That was my first thought. It's a reference I use myself surprisingly often because it's just so beautiful. I see examples at work all the time.

If she looked as good as that, hell yes! It would be a childhood fantasy come true for one sweet moment :D

When we first met Amelia I thought we were going for the youngest assistant ever to go with the youngest doctor ever, but the entire situation would not have worked given the nations state of Paedo-Paranoia.

When he said "five minutes" it was predictable that his timing would be off. I was expecting her to be sat on that suitcase for a while... but 12 years later and oh my what a story. A couple more years and I guess she's 21 now?

If she decides to go through with the wedding, she'd better hope the young doctor masters time!

Not sure if the sofa at some point was a Chesterfield. I'll have to watch again.

I managed to spot Winnie the Pooh references when the Doctor was trying to find food he liked.

"Tiggers like haycorns." / "Worraworraworraworra!" / "Scooz-ee!"

Overall, the pace was fast and furious, though a little too fast and furious at times. I think Matt settled into the role well, especially as it was obvious he wasn't properly cooked yet.

Don't like the new theme. The new logo will grow on me - not that there's anything I can do to change it! And Prisoner Zero was just a conger eel with added slime. Not much imagination there, I'm afraid.

The last Who I saw was probably the film in 96(?), and before that well Who knows. I cannot therefore compare Doctors, companions or logos to recent attempts. What I can say is that I enjoyed it (apart from the food bit at the start) and that it met my expectations. I'll even go so far as to say I'll be tuning in next time. :)

I'm wondering if they have the new theme, (which I consider to be a lot softer than the previous two) to hint at the fact that the Doctor is a lot closer to being "fixed" than when Ecclestone first appeared on our screens.

I've always assumed that he regenerated into the ninth Doctor during the time war, and he had said to Rose that she had somehow made him better, but having defeated the Time Lords do we think that the experience has also made him "a bit better"?

That's just my opinion... anyone agree/disagree?

I really feel like the theme is largely irrelevant to me. Everyone here banging on about logos and themes and I just loved the story and the characters. If this was a movie we were discussing, everyone would be saying that it wasn't the music or graphics that were important, but a good story

The Who theme is as iconic as the character. It’s always set the scene, and you can almost follow the dreadfulness of the later 1980s Who stories with the appalling treatment of the theme tune. The earlier Who stories were much better, and oddly, the theme tune reflected that - Dr Who was darker, more sinister, and the music was creepier, more electronic and definitely more menacing.

The current Who series has lurched from elements of the Delia Derbyshire arrangement to taking more from the 1980’s themes as the series went along, which kind of bothered me as I knew what those guitar twangs meant. I was hoping that RTD wasn’t regenerating into John Nathan-Turner.

So, the theme can well be an indicator of things to come. I hope I am wrong, as I find the current “dance beat” music pretty underwhelming. Is the BBC obligated to use the orchestra for every outing of the good Doctor these days?
