No Flash means no Fat Pie!

How do you Weebl on an iPhone?

HTML 5, easy. If you can play Quake in HTML5, without any add-ons, I think you should be able to weebl as well.

How easy?

The content is currently produced in Flash. The animators know how to use Flash. They have invested in Flash.

Is there a simple, free automated procedure to reliably convert Flash animations into HTML5 which end-users can can install on their devices, or will Bob have to invest heavily in learning new technology to enable iDonthaveflash users to see their work?

I am aware this is easier for me to say not being a Flash developer, but why did they spend so much time learning a tech that has always been ropey at best?

As far as I'm aware, there's never been a time when Flash worked well at all.

If they convert it to HTML5, the user's won't need to install anything on their phones to view it. Or on anything else for that matter (beyond a reasonably up to date browser).

And surely building an effective ActionScript/Flash content -> compliant HTML5 tool is Adobe's job anyway?

Because HTML5 did not exist. In fact, it still doesn't in any meaningful way. HTML5 video content only plays correctly on a limited number of devices; far fewer than support Flash.

They began the project in 2002. Assuming they were clairvoyant, what development suite should they have used to create scalable vector graphic animations which play perfectly for 99% of end users?

This is worth a read too. Puts a different perspective on the spat. Apple are basically telling Adobe that their lack of support for OSX means that they won’t reciprocate with their new platform.

I enjoyed the link.

I wonder if it would be worth Apple buying into Adobe? CS5 is a key product for Apple and Apple like to own their key/core technologies. Maybe later on when it is a bit cheaper.

:)

 Works fine in Firefox, just not with German addresses, as there is no Street View information...
