Hot weather?

Suggest if you don't like the heat, come and join me in Lowestoft

Been lovely & sunny for the passed week, but temp wise - it managed to hit a high of 15C today 8-)

Unfortunately, work constraints mean I can't :( I did half enjoy a walk home from the shops this evening, but half way home I became all sticky, which didn't feel pleasant...

I feel your pain (I went back to work today after 12wks off). But we all get some spare time, somewhere in our schedules. Make the most of your evenings/weekends/days off/whatever.

It's absolutely stunning out there! I'm off down to the beach again...

Apparently, the best way to use a fan on hot nights is to let it blow a breeze across your feet. Don't ask me why, but I tried it and it works

I remember reading as a kid about how if you dip your hands and feet in cold water at the start of a hot day, you'll be cooler for the rest of the day. Works both ways. I've tried it and it seems to work.

Also, during the summer, as a kid, sometimes it'd get too cold with the fan blowing so I'd cover up with a duvet but keep my feet out. Even now, when it's hot, I keep my feet bare.

I think it has something to do with being pulse points. In your wrists and feet/ankles there's lots of veins at the very surface of the skin, and keeping these areas cooled should reduce your body temperature to something more comfortable for you if you're uncomfortably warm.

It's never too wet, cold or windy. I like it when it's force nine and pissing freezing rain.

:D

+1 to Linux_User - it's far too damn hot.

That's subjective.

quit your complaining and just enjoy it.

Quit yours and GTFO if you don't like the thread.

I don't ever remember a thread complaining that it's too wet, cold or windy.

*sigh*

Indeed.

I just got out of a very long, hot and uncomfortable internet applications exam and the sweat patch on my t-shirt is huge! The invidgulators were bringing round bottles of water for the candidates it was so hot! The heat really doesn't do any good for my concentration - it makes me quite sleepy.

I'm going to take refuge in the pub with a couple of friends.

I don't think it's air conditioned, but it does sell cold beer. ;)

Other friends of mine are going clubbing tonight - I can't think of anything worse. I'm hot and muggy enough thanks, never mind adding two and a half thousand people in one crowded place (it's bound to be at capacity - double vodka and coke or red-bull for £1 OMFG woooo! Oh, wait, I'm not going! )
