Raises hand. I have a 3D camera, and I like it. I am aware that it has a limited audience and it is really a Victorian parlour trick.

I have taken 3D pictures before.

However, that was using a potato in a box with two pin holes back when I was about 10. I never fixed the image so it's gone now.

What about 3D VR goggles?

That's a serious point.

If you need to wear £80 powered up glasses to see the 3D TV then why not just wear VR goggles? You could probably get several sets for the price of one giant TV, and they allow for a more immersion experience.

I know someone who's partially sighted and uses them to watch TV on anyway.

Absolutely. For 3D gaming VR goggles are the way to go. Miniaturisation will over time make them lightweight and unobtrusive, with in all probability a bypass button to let you see normally when it is time to come down for your tea.

:)

Not unlike todays 3D TVs.

Do you have to wear goggles? If so, not so nice.

Reports are emerging of goggle-free TV sets in the wild. Being sold in Japan, but later world wide. Early adopters may wish they had waited.

Yes you do have to wear glasses, but it is a very nice set almost designer so it's no different to driving or spending a day in the sun with your sun glasses on.

I agree. They might be much better in a couple of years.

Are early adopters premature in everything they do? :P
