I will see this at the first available opportunity, based solely on this recommendation, I'm glad that you saw The Matrix as changing popular cinema, it has certainly influenced nearly every action film in the past 10 years. I haven't seen it yet because I've been working at an animal refuge in Bolivia and am now about to depart on a 4 day Inca Trail trek.

Pleased to hear that. All of it!! Very impressive - I'm jealous! Please come back and tell us what you thought of Bolivia, the trek and the movie when you can.

Oh and Zippy -

Seriously good film. Nic loved it too. Not sure what all the 'i dont get it' fuss is about though. The premise of the film I dont find to be that complex at all. I guess the unerlying issues and what is left open to interpretation is what gives some people headaches as they search for concrete answers.

I would absolutely recommend seeing this at the cinema. I dont think the small screen would do it justice.

Its a tricky one to say too much about without giving anything away so really, just go see it.

It seems the only people in the media who don't like Inception don't like it because they've noticed "a theme used in the film that has been used in other films", and therefore they're pretending to not like it in the hope that it reflects positively on their reputation as serious filmgoers. Still I've managed to find out when it's showing until without getting too many spoilers (I know it's about dreams now).

Yes but that's like say Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is about kung fu.

Just saw it - I liked it.
(Didn't like the 45 minute hunt for a parking space though, which meant I missed the first 5 minutes.)

If I have any criticism, it's just that the end sequence is too damned long. I was getting a little bored of the unrelenting "PERIL!" followed by "MORE DANGER!" cuts.
All in all, pretty decent though. I'm wishing I'd stayed to the end of the credits, but the people I was with aren't like that. I'm curious to see if that thing at the end does or doesn't. I think it does...

Joining the film after it has started, shame on you. All those people who've managed to make it on time having their enjoyment interrupted by someone who can't find a parking space, probably because of the size of the car. ;)

I complained to a cinema for letting too many people in to see a film which had already started at least 20 mins previously, got a couple of free tickets from it, which I couldn't use as I had emigrated.

Just saw this. It's not nearly as complex as some people would have you believe.
A little twisty-turny for the first half, and I think you really need to pay attention to what's being said.
Good film.

For that time of the day, after being in work beforehand? Yes, that was it.
If, however, you were asking if there's going to be a little better review coming from me down the line, I'd also have to respond in the affirmative.

Mark

Saw Inception yesterday with my girlfriend. We found it predictable, the special effects were good, but the story itself just wasn't paced correctly. I had worked out about the "original" Inception very early on, as soon as he mentioned Limbus, the beginning made sense and I knew how it would turn out. Likewise, the solution to the Zero-G problem was obvious and I had that solved, before the dreamer even asked himself how he would solve the problem.

Each new problem was billboarded, with its solution, long before the problem actually surfaced.

It was visially good, but not very exciting.

So I was supposed to be watching Inception tonight with one of the prettiest girl I've ever met, instead thanks to a lying taxi driver I waited at the wrong cinema. Utter fail of a meetup. However I've organised something else we can do tomorrow and now I'm waiting to watch the late showing of Inception on my lonesome. At least I'll be able to concentrate more now. :D
