Woman who pretended to be man to trick friend into sex jailed for eight years | UK news | The Guardian

By all means sentence her to eight years, but how about making it relative to other sentencing? Murderers and paedos don't get that long FFS.

I wouldn't like to bet that was an accident.

Yeah. That Putin is just spoiling for a scrap with the U.S.

Meh, if you leak the designs on TV, "by accident", then you don't actually have to waste money building it, because people will believe you already have...

I'd say he'll be dealing with something worse in prison if they don't put him in the nonce wing.

Man arrested after entering Apple shop carrying samurai sword

"An Apple Store employee, who wished to remain anonymous, said that at one point the deranged man yelled “I just want an iPhone!” as he swung the sword on a staircase landing."

"The merchandise floor was packed, and all of a sudden I see that the stair case was empty. I thought, that's bizarre," said Nancy Birnbaum, a lawyer who lives nearby and was at the Apple Store to type up an email.

Quote:
According to a witness who stood outside the store, the sword-wielding man came outside where he threatened to cut his own neck with the weapon.

"He put the sword to the back of his neck and just held it there," said the 30-year old witness, who declined to give his name.

Tbf, a Windows phone left me similarly disorientated recently... ;)

Just goes to show you've got to be mental to want an iPhone. ;)

Hmm, the screen on my company Galaxy S3 broke a few weeks back, I knocked over a bottle of water on my desk and it landed on the phone, cracking the screen.
I am now using a Windows Phone 7 phone from 2010. I have a 2 year old iPhone 5S in my desk drawer and I'm still trying to decide whether to go with the iPhone over the htc Mozart - that said, the Mozart is in much better condition; I never used any case on the Mozart, the previous owner of the iPhone had used a silicon slip case on it and the metal around the edge is all chipped and the back is scratched to hell...

I've pre-ordered the new Lumia 950 and I'm thinking of putting the company SIM in my old, private Lumia 1020 when the new phone arrives.

Surely the EU amongst others would be all over that?

I don't know, given that malware being delivered through adverts from legitimate ad flingers is the main cause of infections at the moment, they could claim it is on security grounds. :D

I am finding ads so intrusive now. Pre page screens with video, ads that obscure the page, auto play adverts. So much so that I am more likely to bail than stick it out to the content.

Many years ago, I posted a video showing how the MacUser web site loaded with and without the ads. The adverts slowed it down so much.

Some ad networks clearly don't check their content's behaviour on mobile devices either, as witness some sites linked to from this place which are crippled on an iPad.

What sort of a cnut... I'd quite like to see the prison doctor take the same approach with them though
